Preview policy: the browser-storage information below reflects this version of the site. The Stripe checkout and live Cloudflare configuration must be checked before launch to complete the service cookie inventory.

What are cookies and browser storage?

Cookies are small files that websites store on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, can remember information between visits.

Remembering your choice

We store an entry called hhg-cookie-notice-v1 in your browser’s local storage when you choose “Continue with essential only”. It records the notice version and an expiry date, so we can remember your acknowledgement for 180 days. The shopping cart is stored in local storage as hint-hunter-cart-v1 so it remains available while you browse. These entries are not used for advertising or analytics. After 180 days, we show the notice again when you visit; the old entry is replaced when you acknowledge it again.

Optional cookies

No optional analytics or advertising cookies are currently enabled. If we introduce services that require consent, we will explain their purposes and ask for your choice before enabling them.

Checkout and other services

The site uses Stripe for payment processing, Cloudflare for hosting and private file storage, and Resend to deliver order and download emails. Checkout and file delivery require the live account secrets and Cloudflare bindings to be configured before customers can complete an order. The exact browser storage used during Stripe checkout depends on the payment settings.

Stripe may use storage for payment processing, authentication and fraud prevention when you use checkout. Cloudflare may use security cookies when its protection features are enabled. We will record the cookies actually used, their purposes and expiry periods once the live configuration is verified. See Stripe’s cookie information and Cloudflare’s cookie information.

Resend is used by our server to send emails; we do not embed a Resend tracking script in this website. Email open and click tracking are separate settings and are not controlled by this website notice.

Managing your choices

You can reopen the notice using “Cookie settings” in the footer. You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Deleting the notice entry makes the notice appear again.
